For parents

Parent Information Hub

Everything families need to know — from enrolment and tours to daily routines, illness guidance, and how we stay in touch.

Aligned with agency requirements — drafts under review

These policies follow London Children's Connection's Community Home Child Care requirements (Parent Handbook, January 2023 edition). They are drafts: Ammra and the agency will verify them against the current handbook and agency agreement before they are finalised. Anything not yet confirmed is clearly marked — please confirm details with Ammra before relying on them.

Enrolment process

Enrolment follows London Children's Connection's Community Home Child Care process (Ammra's provider status to be confirmed): a registration meeting with a Home Child Care Coordinator, completed application, health history with up-to-date immunizations, payment arrangements, and a "match visit" interview with Ammra. A Parent–Provider Information form records contracted days and hours.

Requesting a tour

We love meeting families! Tick "request a tour or introductory call" on the contact form and we will arrange a time to meet.

Illness & exclusion

Aligned with Middlesex-London Health Unit standards via London Children's Connection (pending confirmation): immediate pickup for fever, unexplained rash, 2+ watery bowel movements in a day, inability to participate normally or go outdoors, or communicable illness. A medical certificate may be required after communicable illness.

Emergency procedures

In an emergency Ammra calls 911, then the parent, then the agency office. A signed emergency consent form from registration allows treatment to begin if parents can't be reached; costs are the family's responsibility.

Communication with parents

Daily updates on naps, meals, activities and milestones. Concerns go to Ammra first, then the Home Child Care Coordinator (the agency aims to respond within two business days).

Quick questions

Is Little Steps with Ammra a licensed daycare?

We're aligning our policies with London Children's Connection's Community Home Child Care program, which is licensed by Ontario's Ministry of Education. Ammra is confirming her provider arrangement with the agency — ask us for the latest, and we'll be transparent about where things stand.

Can we visit before enrolling?

Absolutely — we encourage it! Request a tour through the contact form and we'll arrange a time that works for your family.

How will I know how my child's day went?

We'll share daily updates about naps, meals, activities, and special moments — through chats at pickup, a daily log, or messages.

What if my child has allergies or medical needs?

Tell the coordinator everything before registration so we can prepare. Allergy and medical information is kept visible to caregivers at all times, and life-threatening allergies get a formal action plan reviewed yearly.
